BarTur Photo Award

The BarTur Photo Award was established in 2011, founded by Amnon and Armon BarTur in memory of Ann Lesley BarTur (1947–1984), a talented British artist and Amnon's late wife, whom he met at the London College of Printing and Graphic Arts.

Rooted in a belief in photography's power to shape how we understand and engage with the world, the award brings pressing global issues to the forefront, crosses boundaries, and helps connect communities.

It has supported students and emerging talent through collaborations including with University of the Arts London (2011 and 2012) and the Photographers' Gallery, London (BarTur Photobook Award, 2014, 2015 and 2017), and connects photographers with an international jury drawn from editorial, fine art, advertising, museums, galleries and publishing.

The award welcomes a wide range of photographic approaches spanning documentary, fine art, fashion, advertising and journalism, and is open to both students and professionals.
